The Esper is your friend. It is an advanced system with limited AI capability. There are a number of specific elements you will now have access to in addition to the standard police computer functions you should all be used to. The first is an extensive knowledge base on all replicants up to Class 5, with data being added every month for Class 6 reps and beyond. This includes data on model types from all manufacturers, their characteristics and their behaviours. This is tied to a heuristic predictive program that gives some assistance in tracking the potential movements and responses of renegade replicants. This is currently limited in capability, but is improving over time as real life data from completed Rep-Detect cases is fed in. Despite its limitations, it does provide us with useful suggestions. In this business, any edge is welcome. What you will learn in time is that this in no way replaces the Blade Runner "instinct", but that those with the instinct can pick things out of the results that you trainees won't see. You should already have used the basic police Esper for examining photographs. Available to Rep-Detect is an advanced prototype of this software for video and photograph examination. Using resolution enhancement and extrapolative processes, the new software uses probability algorithms to zoom into a photographic image far beyond the natural resolution available by regular enlargement. The extraction of interpolated data from reflective surfaces even provides what is essentially a 3 dimensional view of a scene that effectively allows us to view around corners or other obstacles. It is surprising how often this can be used to our advantage to progress investigations.
